The design of car parking areas can be challenging, especially when adhering to design guidelines, standards, or local authority’s requirements. For example, providing the minimum number of parking spaces required whilst maintaining an adequate, level of service for circulatory movements and car park access arrangements.

Using our innovative, global experience and ITS initiative, we can provide car park design layouts with solutions to cater for peak-period parking demand including methods to manage multi-storey car parks with non-uniform utilisation on all storeys. Working together with Zaha Hadid Architects, Ayen Consulting provided car parking design input on a proposed 262,000 sqm Sberbank Technopark as part of a new corporate district in Moscow accommodating 17,000 staff. We provided well-received designs for a sub-level internal car park with servicing delivery and waste area with associated internal ramp, vehicle, and security access.

With modern residential and business parking facilities incorporating service areas for waste management and deliveries, our designs include route management Intelligent Transport Systems, Swept Path Analysis and signage concepts to ensure all users are managed safely with minimal conflicts.

All our designs adhere to AS2890 standards and are influenced by global guidelines including ‘The Institution of Structural Engineers Car Parking Design’.
